A co-housing Christmas

This blog post first appeared on our website many years ago. We’ve migrated it to our new website unchanged to preserve our history.

Owning a home was the single most important thing I could do for my daughter. We first started renting at Bellingham Cohousing in 2010 and as soon as I learned a unit was for sale through KulshanCLT, I jumped at the opportunity! I am delighted to have a place to call my own, where I don’t have to worry about when the lease is up and when we might have to leave such amazing neighbors and friends. Owning a home gives us stability to set those worries aside while I work at the Community Food Co-op, pursue my degree at WWU, and Rowan begins first grade at Larrabee. KulshanCLT has helped me achieve a long-term dream, and I am truly grateful for the help I have received in making that happen. Last year for Christmas when people asked me what I was getting Rowan, I said, “Oh… I’m buying her a house.”
