KulshanCLT Celebrates 25 Years!
This year, Kulshan Community Land Trust marks a quarter century of dedication to providing permanently affordable homeownership in Whatcom County. In the face of a dwindling rental market and the highest housing costs on record, we have big plans to grow our capacity to meet the housing challenges faced by Whatcom County residents.
Since our inception in 1999, KulshanCLT has helped more than 230 low- to moderate-income households purchase affordable homes in Whatcom County. As we prepare to expand our services to match the growing need for affordable homes, we are using our 25th anniversary as a platform to launch the next phase of accelerated growth.
Kulshan executive director Dean Fearing shares, “KulshanCLT has ambitious plans to build a range of new homes that will further expand our impact and provide safe, affordable homes to even more individuals and families throughout Whatcom County.”
With multi-family developments in progress in Bellingham, Ferndale, and Blaine, KulshanCLT is poised to add more than 100 homes to the trust in the next five years.
