A Story about the Nooksack Tribe and Telegraph Road
Cathalina Barril, one of our homeowners, shared this history about Telegraph Road where her new home is located:
“Our ancestors would travel from Nooksack to the bay and Telegraph would be the midpoint. This is where they would stop and spend the night and then travel on. So they would go out to Lummi, do their fishing and hunting,” then stop again on the way home.
Cathalina appreciates this connection to her ancestors, and although there were challenges that brought her here to Telegraph Townhomes, it just makes it feel right to call this home.
